Cotton Candy Mix Popcorn

What you're seeing in those two bags is what unfortunately happens to the softer, butterfly style popcorn that we use for our savory flavors, as opposed to the harder mushroom shaped popcorn of our candied flavors, which you see in the four top row bags in your picture. Butterfly popcorn suffers from settling because of its irregular shapes - being moved around in transit causes the popcorn to start to fill the tiny empty spaces that were there before. Think about it like the before and after of a puzzle - the area the puzzle takes up becomes smaller once all the pieces are fit together. This doesn't happen as much to the candied popcorn because along with its stronger base structure, it also has a hard candy coating, so it stays stacked and tight. We always fill our bags as much as we can in the store, but if we pack the savory popcorn too tightly, it starts to break into pieces, so it's a delicate balance to achieve.
