The co-owner and founder of BulkCandyStore, Brian Shenkman, has been chasing his calling to be an entrepreneur since the early 90’s when his confectionary endeavor took root. His first investment was “Fruit Sippers”, a sweet fruit-flavored drink in bottles shaped as fruit, which he sold at a County Fair. The atmosphere at the carnivals gave Brian the inspiration to pursue other opportunities which led him to become the Candy King he is today. In 1996 he started attending various fairs across the country and noticed that candy was a popular choice for carnival-goers. The gears were turning! And so, in 1997 BulkCandyStore was created. With the help of Brian’s close-knit family, BulkCandyStore.com has become an e-commerce and local retail store catering to candy lovers and event planners alike…and the rest is history.
Oldest of the Shenkman brothers, Ken Shenkman is the co-owner and creator of BulkCandyStore’s website. Ken embodies the BulkCandyStore persona with his enthusiastic and corky view on life! Tech-savvy and innovative, Ken brought his experience and talents to his brother’s business in 1997, making it a family affair and in 2001 BulkCandyStore.com was born. Today Ken is the “go-to guy” for all things technical. Committed and personable, the BulkCandyStore business wouldn’t be what it is today without him.
The backbone of BulkCandyStore, Carole “Mom” Shenkman, retired and joined the business in 1997. She is now the CFO, handling all of the accounting and billing aspects of the company. Much more than a “bookkeeper” Carole makes BulkCandyStore feel like a second home. She makes sure we celebrate small and big accomplishments alike within the team. Our birthdays are never missed, and our coffee is always brewed. Carole is a mom, a boss and everything in between!
